Every page of the PDF is rendered as an image and placed on its own slide. The slide takes the document's most common page format; a page in a different format — a landscape chart, say — is fitted inside it without distortion, with margins. The text does not become editable — a PDF has no slide structure — but the deck opens, projects and annotates like any other.

Does the slide size match my PDF?
Yes, for the format your document uses most. PowerPoint allows only one slide size per deck, so that size is taken from the most common page format: an A4 portrait PDF gives A4 portrait slides, a 16:9 PDF gives widescreen slides. A page in a different format is fitted inside without distortion, with margins — never stretched.
